Historic Preservation Through Photography
While always drawn to old signs, it was 2000 when I started to photograph great vintage signs in the Dixieland Area of Lakeland, Florida. And there are plenty! The iconic Southside Cleaners, Vito's Italian Restaurant, and Reececliff Restaurant for starters! Since then, traveling is always enhanced by the search for gems like those featured in Issue 75 of The Lakelander Magazine. Like old cars, signs reflect the style of the times. In capturing these images, we can preserve and enjoy the craftsmanship and spirit of those who came before us.
